Why Choose Location Photography?

After 17 years running a successful Photography Studio, I made the conscious decision to move my portraiture work outdoors.

Why? Because being outside is fun, relaxed and truly spontaneous. 

In the studio, everything is contained. Out on location, everyone is free!  The kids can run, play, explore, and be themselves. As a parent myself, I know those fleeting, genuine moments are the ones you'll cherish most—a child's delighted laughter as they chase a wave, a quiet hug while walking through the woods, or a shared secret on a winding path.

My job is to blend into the environment and capture that real life as it unfolds.

Beauty of a Location Session

The beauty of a location session is that we can choose a place that is meaningful to your family. Do you have a favourite woodland forest where you take weekly walks? Is the beach your happy place? Or perhaps you'd prefer the comfort and familiarity of your own house and garden?

  • We Meet Up: We'll start the session in your chosen location.
  • We Have Fun: Forget complex direction. I'll provide gentle guidance to put everyone at ease, but mostly, I'll encourage you to interact naturally—play games, tell jokes, and enjoy your time together.
  • I Capture the Magic: With my camera in hand, I’m constantly looking for those perfect, spontaneous moments. The light changes, the children move, and I’m ready to capture every unique expression and heartfelt connection.

The result is a collection of beautiful, emotive images that are completely unique to your family, set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Dorset countryside. These are more than just photographs; they are lasting memories of a wonderful time spent together.
